How to use a live face swap in OBS for streaming

In OBS Studio a face swap is just another camera source. Start the face swap in the Live Face Swap desktop app, add a Video Capture Device in OBS and choose LiveFaceSwap Camera. Overlays, scenes and your encoder settings stay exactly as they are.

In short

  • Add LiveFaceSwap Camera as a Video Capture Device source in OBS.
  • The AI runs in the cloud, so OBS keeps your GPU for encoding and games.
  • Credits are only used while the AI output is running.
  • Do a private recording first to check expressions, head turns and lighting.
  • Platforms such as Twitch prohibit impersonation and explicit deepfakes.

Add the face swap to a scene

You do not need window capture or chroma key.

  1. Start the face swap Open the desktop app, pick your webcam, choose an effect and reference, and click Start.
  2. Add a source in OBS In your scene click + under Sources, choose Video Capture Device, then pick LiveFaceSwap Camera as the device.
  3. Fit and layer it Resize the source, add your overlays above it and keep your real webcam source hidden or removed.
  4. Test, then go live Record a short private clip, check the result, then start streaming to Twitch, YouTube, Kick or TikTok LIVE as usual.

Why cloud processing helps streamers

Local face swap tools run the model on your own graphics card, the same card OBS and your game use. Live Face Swap sends your camera to Lucy 2.5, a real-time video model from Decart, and returns the edited video, so your computer mainly decodes video. You still need a stable upload connection.

More than face swap

The same session can switch effects without restarting: Face Swap with a portrait, Try-On to change your outfit from a garment photo or preset, and Restyle to turn the whole scene into anime, watercolor, comic book and other styles. Every mode uses the same 3.6 credits per second.

Stream rules

Twitch does not allow impersonation or explicit deepfake content, and a disclaimer does not make prohibited content acceptable. Use your own face, an original character or a portrait you have permission to use, and tell viewers they are watching an AI effect.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the browser version with OBS?

The browser workspace is for previewing. For streaming, the desktop app is simpler because OBS can select LiveFaceSwap Camera directly.

Does it work with Streamlabs, XSplit or vMix?

Any software that lets you choose a camera device can use LiveFaceSwap Camera, including Streamlabs Desktop, XSplit, vMix and TikTok LIVE Studio.

How much does a live session cost?

Every live mode uses 3.6 credits per second, and only while the AI output is running. Connecting, choosing a photo and previewing your camera are free. Credits come in one-time packs that never expire.

Whose face can I use?

Your own face, or a portrait of someone who has given you permission. Do not use a live face swap to impersonate a real person, mislead the people you talk to, or create sexual content, and tell your audience when they are watching an AI-altered video.
